Kaila Smith, Psy.D.

Founder & CEO

Licensed Clinical Psychologist and

Clinical Supervisor (PSY31578)

Dr. Smith is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist in California. She works with adolescents, adults, and couples and has extensive training in treating mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and relationship issues. Dr. Smith also has experience working with members of the U.S. Military, and their spouses/families. She is currently pursuing certification to become a Perinatal Mental Health therapist to provide specialty care for those struggling with Perinatal or Post-Partum Depression and Anxiety.

 

Dr. Smith uses evidenced-based treatment to meet each client's needs in treatment. Her hope is to help individuals navigate transitions, develop a deeper understanding of themselves, and cope with the difficulties of the past or future they may be facing. She strives to create a warm and collaborative environment, as she believes change occurs best in a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship.

Annie Karamanukyan, Psy.D.

Registered Psychological Associate (PSB94027163)

Dr. Karamanukyan is a graduate from Alliant International University, San Diego where she completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology. She is a pre-licensed psychologist working under the supervision of Dr. Kaila Smith to complete her post-doctoral training for licensure. Throughout her pre-doctoral training she gained extensive training in health and existential psychology working with individuals who have varying severities of medical and terminal illnesses. While in graduate school she trained in a crisis house, psychiatric hospital, and a maximum security prison where she provided therapy to clients in acute crisis and supported them in stabilization. Her previous experiences have helped develop her patient centered approach to therapy. Dr. Karamanukyan uses a combination of Psychodynamic therapy, Acceptance and Commitment therapy, and Systems theory to conceptualize and support her clients. She also has specialized training in EMDR and utilizes this modality to support client’s with a trauma history.

 

Dr. Karamanukyan has a collaborative style to therapy, in which she encourages patient’s to lead their healing journey while she remains curious and open, being mindful of her patient’s diverse cultural experiences. Though she takes a supportive role, she empowers her patients to make changes when necessary. She has experience working with children, adolescent, adult and geriatric populations.

Michael Pinover, Psy.D. 

Registered Psychological Associate (PSB94027863)

Dr. Pinover obtained his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and is currently pre-licensed and working towards gaining post-doctoral hours for licensure. He has extensive experience treating substance use disorders, mood disorders, and other co-occurring mental health issues. He works with adults, families, and adolescents. Dr. Pinover’s approach to therapy relies on the development of the therapeutic relationship to facilitate change and he believes that autonomy, trust, and respect are vital to this process. He utilizes a combination of approaches depending on what each client needs. He mostly uses Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy to give clients the necessary tools to cope with life’s difficulties.
